Welcome to R.V. Miller Ltd.

Dorset thatching company R V Miller Ltd has been in business for over 50 years and is an expert specialist in thatching.

Based in the beautiful Isle of Purbeck R V Miller Ltd was established in 1966 by Rod Miller and is today run by Rod’s stepson, John Tozer, who joined the firm after completing his apprenticeship in 1994.

With a loyal workforce R V Miller Ltd is one of the longest running thatching firms in the UK.

Rod and John are both members of the National Society of Master Thatchers and the Dorset Master Thatchers Association.

In July 2012 ITV’s “Ade in Britain” team filmed us thatching for a new series, which was subsequently broadcast that Autumn/Winter.

Dorset thatcher Rod Miller completed his thatching apprenticeship during the 1960s with a thatching contractor in Wiltshire.

Ridging

An important part of maintaining your thatch roof is to ensure the ridge is replaced approximately every ten years.

Repairs

Small regular repairs and inspections should be carried out to keep your thatch roof well maintained which will ensure a longer life span.
